Still No Baby Jack

Christmas has come and gone and Santa didn't bring baby brother, like my 3 year olds asked! Try explaining that one! :) I just told them Jesus decides when it's time for baby brother to join our family! Mommy is not done growing him yet!
We did have a wonderful Christmas though! It's the first year the girls actually get the concept of Jesus' Birthday and Santa Claus! It was so much fun playing Santa, well Jeff mainly built the "toy" Santa brought the girls! They got a HUGE swing set! one of those wooden ones that took poor Jeff AKA "Santa" a week to build! But oh was it worth seeing their faces on Christmas morning! It didn't matter it was 5 degrees below freezing that morning, we stayed outside nearly all day long sliding and swing our little hearts out!!!! I knew they should open all their other gifts before we showed them the swing set. We opened all their gifts first, then they read the note Santa left next to the empty plate our cookies once were, it said "Look outside for the gift I brought you!" It was great!!!! I feel so blessed to have such polite, gracious children! They sang Happy Birthday to Jesus all weekend long and thanked him so much for all the gifts! Every person who gave them a gift got a very quick thank you before ripping the paper from the present! I was filled with such pride and joy watching these little girls have the time of their lives! Oh how I wish I was 3 again!
Here are a few pics from Christmas! Enjoy:

My C-Section is scheduled for Jan 7, 2009! I will keep you updated!

Merry Christmas

Just in case I am in the hospital having baby Jack I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! This is our Christmas card this year, if you didn't get one that means I don't have your address! So....send it to me! :)
I think I am very very close to having this baby boy! Thursday I went in for a regular apt and the Dr ended up sending me to Labor and Delivery because I was having contraction every 6 min. The contractions kept coming and by 5:00pm they were every 9o sec. However, the contractions were not doing anything to my cervix, so she held me overnight to observe me and everything just stayed the same. The next morning she gave me the option to stay in the hospital and wait and see or go home and wait it out, so I am at home waiting this labor out. He will come in God's time! I am having steady, hard contractions today though so I may go in and have them check me to make sure everything is okay.
I wanted to update everyone on Jack's situation and Wish everyone a Merry Christmas! I will end with a family picture by Red Barn Design. I will update again as soon as I get a chance! Love you all!!!

Until next time........

Baby Jack update.....

Monday night was spent in labor and delivery here at the hospital. I was having contractions every 2-3 min for over an hour. They were able to stop the contractions with Breathine (sp) but told me starting today they would not stop labor again! I am now 36 weeks...the baby is probably around 6-6.5 lbs. I went to the Dr today for a scheduled appt and I am dilated a finger tip, but I could stay that way until Jan. 5, my scheduled C-section! All in all, everything looks great, I'm in the clear to have the baby anytime now! I am 2 weeks further pregnant than I ever have been....and this last month SUCKS! But I really want to hold him in as long as possible! Who knows we may have Baby Jack at our family Christmas party this year! I will update more as I get new information. My next appt is Thurs. Dec 18, so I will let you know!

until next time.........

Santa Baby

Yes...we LOVE Santa! The girls just can't get enough of the Jolly Ol' Man! We have plans to see him again at the annual Christmas parade this coming Sunday! This picture was taken by my friend Candice May-Thurmond with Red Barn Photography.....www.redbarndesign.net! She takes awesome pictures and did these particular photos as fundraiser for the Relay for Life/ American Cancer Society. We just donated $10 and got a free 8x10 from an awesome photographer, how awesome is that? I love her work...be on the look out for my Maternity/ Family Christmas pics she took last Sun! I just have to get the pics from her and get her permission to post them here! I think they turned out great, other than the fact that I am HUGE!!!!! Only 31 more days until I hold my baby Jack! If I last that long, the Dr said today she would be surprised if I last until Christmas......which is fine by me! I just may have my very own Santa Baby....ya know, I've really been an awful good girl!

Until next time........

Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus...right down Santa Claus Lane!

I have been waiting to post these Christmas pics for awhile now! We took the girls to see Santa Claus 2 Saturdays ago! They were so excited! It brought tears to my eyes to see their eyes light up with excitement! They were so happy to meet Santa and tell him what to bring fro Christmas! He was so cool, when the girls told him to please bring them a slide and swing, he said, "You two be good girls and listen to your Mommy and Daddy, and leave me chocolate chip cookies!" He looks like the real Santa too! He is the same man from their 1st and 2nd Christmas! I LOVE him! He is so great with the kids! He let C & C pull and tug on his beard and kiss his cheek before we left! With all that said...here are the pics from this year!

Here is a pic from 2006...same Santa!

A Few weeks ago Jim came down to see us and I took some pics for He and Peggy's Christmas Cards. They turned out so cute, I must share!

Sunday we took Family and Maternity pics with Red Barn Photography! Candice did a wonderful job! I can't wait to see her finished products, and when I have them...you know I will share!

Until next time........

I eat turkey, I eat turkey...Yes I do!

The girls were in their very first play today at the First Baptist Church! It was the cutest thing I have ever seen in my entire life! All the kids were so funny! They have been practicing for weeks, but of course once the curtains rose and they saw all the parents in the audience, they had no such interest in singing all the songs! Chloe and Caitlyn were soooo excited to see Mommy and Daddy, along with Pappa, Pippy and Mimi all there to watch them! Chloe was laughing so hard she started to tear up from excitement! Which of course made here very pregnant, hormonal mother tear up too! I don't know if I was just happy to see them so excited or sad to see they are growing up so fast!!! Probably a little of both! Either way, they were the stars of the show in my eyes, without singing one single verse! :) After the short production, the director showed all the parents the videos they had been taking of all the rehearsals over the past couple of weeks! It was great to see how much they love their teachers and classmates! Jeff video taped the play and I snapped some pictures. I have no idea how to download and post a video, so the pics will have to do! I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

The images of the kids on stage are dark...my flash didn't quite make it that far! I must get a new camera!

Thanksgiving is a time to remember all that there is to be thankful for! I am so thankful for my family...my entire family! It means so much that we all remain so close!

Chloe and Caity,
Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you! I hope you know you 2 are the lights of our lives! We are so thankful to be your parents! We can't wait for more school plays and days like today! We watched you today with so much joy! Your smiles filled our hearts, and for that, we will forever be grateful! We love you so very much!
Love,
Mommy and Daddy

You know I LOVE dropping them off and a few days later getting pics back! If you have kids you know how hectic getting pictures taken can be!!!! Hayden and Hayden Photography took the pics and they turned out great!!!! What a brave man, shooting pics of probably 50+ kids!!!! The one at the very top of this post is of the girl together! Here are the rest!

Bye, Bye Nursery... Hello Big Girl Room

Well I finally decided to put up the girls' big girl bedding! It looks so cute in their room! I did it while they were with my dad at the skating rink! We are trying to get as much excitement from the skating rink as possible because Friday night is my Dad's last night to have it! He will be leasing it out to a really nice family, but that means no more free parties for the girls'! They love to skate, it will be weird to pay to get in. :-( And not have free reign to go when the girls feel like skating! Oh well, Dad has been working 7 days a week for almost 10 years. It's about time he has the weekends off! He deserves it! Maybe now the girls can spend the night with him on Sat. nights! ;)

When the girls got home from the skating rink I had their room all set up! They were so excited! They automatically started jumping on their beds....saying "Mom, I love my new bed!" I don't thin they realize it is the same bed they have been sleeping on, just with the frame and new bedding! Hehe! Here are some pics we took before they got home! My friend Beth has a great camera, so it really does showoff the colors of the bedding! I really want a camera like hers!

Here is a pic with my camera! All this time I though I had a great camera!? This pic shows the safety rails in use! They really do work great! Chloe didn't fall out of bed once last night! I usually have to go in there and put her back in bed 10 times! Hence the reason the mattresses were on the floor!

Today was also the girls' picture day @ school! I tried to snap a couple shots of them before we left the house! Caitlyn was the only one cooperating! I sure hope Chloe doesn't give the photographer a hard time today! I will post those pis when I get them back, but these will have to do until then!

I haven't posted a belly pic in a while! So, I will end this with a pic of Baby Jack! I am 29 weeks! Only 10 weeks before I can hold my baby boy! I'm so excited!!!!

Until next time.....

UCA School shooting!

I got a call late last night informing me of the University of Central Arkansas school shooting! The only information I have this morning is that is was not random, 3 shot; 2 dead, 1 injured. 4 suspects, 2 still at large!
I can't believe this happened in Conway, AR! That is one of the safest campuses! I graduated from UCA in 2005! This is just crazy! Please keep the families of the victims in your prayers!

That is what the girls came home singing last night after the Bulldog victory! Dad and Patti took the girls to their 1st football game this season last night! They had a blast! I think they may just be our future Bulldog Cheerleaders! Aunt Kiki would be so proud! Anyways I took some pics of the girls before they left and thought I would share them with you.

I want to share the pics from last years Bulldog Football season! It's just crazy how fast these girls are growin! I know I say that alot, but it makes me sad :(

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you........

I would like to thank Jeff's dad, Jim, for all his hard work this weekend!!!!! I have been dreaming about using the dishwasher I got back in Christmas 06...and finally my dream came true this weekend!!!! Jim gave Jeff the inspiration to insatall the dishwasher, finally! After a few hours of the 2 men reconfiguring the cabinates, electrial work, and plumbing I now have a dishwasher! Good bye washing dishes by hand...FOREVER!!!!!! :) Those that know me, know I hate 2 things...washing dishes and folding laundry! Now all I need is some kind of robot to fold all my laundry! Why can't it come out of the dryer folded? But seriously, I can handle folding laundry while my dishes wash in the..... dishwasher! YAY!

Jim also helped Jeff paint Jack's room! The room used to hold all of the girls' toys! OH MY GOSH.....these kids have entirely too many toys! After they got the room all painted I began the dreaded task of sorting through mass of dolls, strollers, barbies, ponys, etc! I will be having a garage sale soon! Finally about 5 hours later, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I got a really good start on decorating the nursery so I tok some pics of our work in progress.

Before I show you the pics I want to tell you how I came up with the decorating ideas and the name for our little boy, Jackson James Owenby "Jack." My grandfather was Jack Barnes, hence "Jack" ans Jeff's dad is James. Well, my grandpa ment so much to me and I just had to name my first born son after him! My G-pa loved horses and Baseball. He started American Legion Baseball in SW Oklahoma and served on the American Legend Staff for many years. All the baseball stuff you see in the room are bats and balls from American Legend World Series games, some are even signed. Jeff also loves baseball so many of the balls you see are balls he had signed while attending Pro baseball games, Jeff even has rookie baseball cards of various players in plaques that we displayed in Jack's room along with gloves Jeff used when he played ball. WE plan on putting all the signed balls and bats in some kind of display case to preserve them, then hang them on them wall (I'm open to any suggestions on how to achieve this). My G-pa also loved horses, he raced horses for many years and collected many horse figurines. My mom painted the horse picture for my g-pa, so that piece of art is very special to me! I am trying to honor my G-pa memory by displaying some of his most beloved materials. I am going for the vintage look in the room! With all that said here are some pics of the nursery "work in progress."

I will end this post with a new belly pic of Jack! I'm 27 weeks! Only 12 more to go! Wheew...thank goodness!~

Until next time.......
